Transformation Weight Loss Success Story photographed by Julie Wilcoxson at

1. What made you join Transformations 4 life Boot Camps?

I hurt my back a 1 ½ ago and it landed me in the ER.  Once my back started to heal I knew I needed to strengthen my core to prevent this from happening again.  My husband had been with T4L for 2 years and I had seen the wonderful results he was getting so I contacted Julie.  I started with a home program that Julie wrote for me focusing on my core but also improving overall body strength.  My husband kept encouraging me to come to Boot Camp.  I was a little intimidated with working out with a group.  I worried about not being able to keep up.  With his persistence I gave it a try.  I won’t lie it was tough in the beginning.  It was all I could do to get through the workout but it has been one of the best and rewarding things I have done for myself.

2. How long have you been coming?

Since September 2015

3. What have you enjoyed most?

I love working out with my husband and have several other friends that workout with T4L as well.  We motivate each other and keep one another accountable.    I love that everyone is encouraging.  No one is judged for what they can or can’t do.

4. What results have you experienced?

Mine has not been a story of weight loss but of gaining strength and endurance.  My weight has stayed roughly the same but I have noticed toning and the starts of muscle definition.  I could barely do 10 push-ups on knees when I started, modified several exercises, and could barely complete workouts without feeling like I was going to die.  Now I have advanced to doing push-ups on toes, I rarely modify exercises, have a lot more energy, and feel tired but good after the workouts.  My knees used to hurt and ache but rarely bother me now.

5. What have you learned about yourself?

I work in the field of physical therapy.   Coming to Boot camp has increased my love and passion for exercise, health, and wellness.  I feel it is helping me to be a better therapist by passing on my passion for health and wellness to my clients and hopefully setting a good example for them.  I have also learned that it is never to late to start exercising and taking care of myself.

6. What new goals have you set for yourself?

I want to continue to improve my overall strength and muscle tone. I especially need to continue to work on my core.
