1. What made you join Transformations 4 Life Boot Camps?
About 10 months ago I started running to try to get in better shape. I had never run before and my endurance level was no good. I knew I needed to do something more to build up my strength and muscle tone. I have several friends that go to boot camp and they always talked about how great it is, so when Dena Lee started leading the lunch classes, I finally decided to give it a try.
2. How long have you been coming?
I started boot camp in January 2015, so I’ve been coming regularly for 6 months. I come to the MWF noon workouts and the evening workouts on Monday and Thursday.
3. What have you enjoyed most?
I love how everyone encourages each other. Even though the work-outs are tough it’s always a fun environment and it helps to have friends cheering you on. You don’t get that at home or in a gym. Everyone is working hard to reach their own personal goals and that makes you want to push through and work harder yourself.
4. What results have you experienced so far?
I’m stronger, healthier, I have a lot more endurance, and I feel so much better about myself! I don’t weigh myself, the number on the scale is not important to me, but I have lost several inches. 11 months ago I was a size 12, 6 months ago a size 8, 2 weeks ago I bought size 6 shorts…that was and awesome feeling!
5. What have you learned about yourself?
That I can do this! The thought of going to boot camp was pretty intimidating at first, but I was determined to stick with it. I never thought I’d be a person that enjoys running and working out 5 times a week, but I do! I think it’s fun and I want my kids to see that exercise can be fun as well as rewarding.
6. What new goals have you set for yourself?
To do burpees without wanting to cry! Haha! I do really want to tone up my arms, build up more endurance, and improve my running time.
