1. What made you join Transformations 4 Life Boot Camps?
After I had my daughter, I tried to lose weight by working out irregularly, and eating right, but the scale wasn’t budging. I went on vacation, and I saw a picture of myself in a swimsuit, and literally didn’t recognize myself. At that point, I knew I had to do something! So I started googling “Murfreesboro Bootcamp”, and came across the T4L website. I was inspired by the stories, and decided that it was something I wanted to try.
2. How long have you been coming?
It will be a year in October 2013
3. What have you enjoyed most?
As a former competitive gymnast, I really missed having the opportunity to push myself. I haven’t found an outlet that helped me “escape” like gymnastics did. But when I’m at bootcamp I don’t have to think about anything except getting through the next set, and how many reps I can do. I love that. I also love that everyone is so encouraging. We’re all coming from different places, but we are all there for the same reason.
4. What results have you experienced so far?
My goal was really just to get back to the size I was before I got pregnant, but I’ve lost 20 lbs, and I’m smaller than I’ve been since I was a gymnast in college. I went from a size 8 to a size 0!
5. What have you learned about yourself?
I learned that I’m not too old to get in shape, and my body will still respond to the correct training. I thought I was past that point, and my body would never be the same, but I was wrong! I’ve also learned that with a toddler, I need this time for myself, and it’s very good for my mental health.
6. What new goals have you set for yourself?
I don’t set goals on the scale. I really just want to tone up a little more, stay consistent, and see where I go from there!
This is the first time in my life that I’ve gotten in shape the right way! As a gymnast, I was in amazing shape, but I was also starving. I have never really been sure it was possible to eat and still get in shape. These workouts truly jumpstart your metabolism, and you burn the calories even after you’re done working out. I only workout about 4 times a week and I’ve been able to have great results.
